UPDATED: FULL-TIME NANNY: 4 kids on the Upper West Side!

Overview

This wonderful, returning UWS SmartFamily is looking for full-time nanny to join their team. They have three lovely kids: two girls, ages 4 and 5, and older brother, age 6. They are also expecting a baby this month, in July, any day now. You will be partnering with another nanny and working on a team in their home to tackle childcare together. The other nanny will be caring for the baby during the day until 5:00 PM. The parents get home from work at 6:00. Therefore, starting in October, you will only have all found kids for one hour, during dinner. Otherwise, you'll usually be with two to three! A two-nanny team has worked well for them thus far and they're excited to find the right fit.

The Ideal Candidate for this Job

The ideal nanny for this role is a team player, and works well with other staff in the home, as you’ll be working with their other nanny each day. You’re an experienced nanny, particularly with multiples, organized, and safety-conscious. You’re cautious when out and about with the kids, especially on public transportation, and make sure to hold their hands and keep them close. You’re also happy to provide homework assistance when needed.

Schedule

There are two possibilities for the schedule: Mon to Thurs 7:30am to 6pm (42 hours/week, with Friday off) Mon to Thurs 12:30pm to 7:30pm and Fri 7:30am to 7:30pm (40 hours/week)

About the Children

Boy, 6, turning 7 soon: Kind, curious and studious. Girl, 5: She’s darling, confident, and funny. She is mature, self-possessed, and loves to gab with her siblings and adults alike! Girl, 4: Independent little one! She loves imaginative play and song, both with her siblings and on her own. She always keeps herself entertained. Baby on the way! They’re all very well behaved. Of course, every child has their moments, but maintaining good manners — especially with adults — has always been a priority for this family. This is a zero screen time family.

Responsibilities

You’ll help tackle the daily routine for four busy kids, partnering with their other nanny. You’ll work together to handle school pickup: one child attends school on the Upper West Side, and the other two children go to school on the Upper East Side, so you’ll divide and conquer. If you’re taking pick up on the East Side, you’ll safely transport them on a bus across the park home to the West Side; all of the children are involved in some degree of after school activities, so you’ll also be shuttling them around to their various activities as well depending on the day. The partner nanny will be caring for the baby during the day until 5:00, and the parents get home from work at 6:00. Therefore, you will have all the kids for only one hour per day, at dinner. For the nighttime routine overall, you’ll help ensure the kids are all fed dinner. The parents would also appreciate some homework help, as all three older kids will have some homework to complete each night; the ideal nanny should be willing and able to jump in and assist there as well. This will mostly consist of keeping them on task and focused, or grabbing them a glass of water or milk while they get their work done. You'll also perform some household tasks (such as folding laundry or preparing snacks for the children) during additional hours as well. Please note that this family keeps Kosher.

Additional Information

This position is a year-round role (in the city, travel is not required for this position) and the family is looking for a candidate who is updated on all standard vaccines. They keep Kosher.
