This returning SmartFamily is looking for a great after-school nanny starting between mid-July and early August. The family is moving back to the city (they're planning to be in Chelsea) after a period living in Atlanta, and would love someone to help this transition go smoothly! They are experienced employers and previously had a SmartSitter they adored, and are looking forward to their next great relationship. They're seeking an experienced, educationally-minded nanny to build a strong relationship with their children and help them thrive. It's $35 to $40/hour gross plus PTO, Sick Time and a MetroCard, and the family is happy to guarantee 24 hours per week.
They'd love to find someone with lots of childcare experience with these age groups and a true passion for working in childcare. Any educational experience would be very welcome, but it isn't a requirement. They'd love to find someone with some flexibility in their schedule to pick up extra hours as well on occasion, with notice. Although the nanny will usually mostly be with the youngest, it's also important to them to find someone who can balance being with both kids at the same time when needed, ensuring they're both getting proper attention and each of their needs are met. A really engaging, present nanny is essential! If you speak Spanish (or French), that would be an amazing plus as well, but it's not a set requirement for the role.
Monday through Thursday from 2 PM to 8 PM.
Boy, 1: Little force of nature! Always smiling unless he’s teething. Started cruising, walking any day! On track with milestones, super happy, playful baby. He's in that phase where he’s getting into everything, so you've got to watch him carefully. Tons of energy. Mom thinks he’ll love living in NYC and have a blast exploring all the playgrounds, parks, and museums. Girl, almost 5: She's in school 8-3 every day in a Spanish immersion program and has some after-school activities. Super social, loves art and dance, loves to be read to, and is starting to read herself. Loves being out in the world! She loves the playground and has a very adventurous spirit. Taking gymnastics classes now, Mom wants to get her into a swim class and piano soon as well.
The main responsibilities for the role are providing engaging childcare and furthering their children's development. The plan as of now is that this nanny will likely be mainly with their youngest, but should be prepared to work with both kids when needed. An educationally minded nanny who is passionate about helping them learn and grow is ideal! While childcare will be the main focus of the day, the family would also love some support around the house (helping with the kids' laundry, preparing kid meals, tidying the play area, etc.) as well. They don't go on extended trips (like being away for a whole summer) but have shorter trips throughout the year. You're welcome to travel with them, but it's not required.
