This Upper West Side family is looking for a reliable, warm, and engaging part-time sitter for their 4-year-old daughter. The schedule is ideally 1–2 afternoons per week (2:30 P.M.–6:30 P.M.), with occasional mornings as needed. They’re hoping to find someone who can help make afternoons fun and active, whether that’s heading to the park, exploring activities, or getting her involved in classes.
You are warm, reliable, and engaging, with a naturally upbeat presence. You enjoy planning fun, age-appropriate activities and are excited to help a child explore new interests like art, music, or sports. You’re attentive, patient, and able to gently encourage participation while respecting her personality. You’re also flexible and open to a variable schedule, including occasional mornings or school-day coverage.

4 year old, girl: Shy, sweet, and in her princess phase. She loves imaginative play, Play-Doh, and puzzles. She recently started school and would benefit from engaging in afternoon activities and gentle encouragement to stay active and social. She attends gymnastics weekly and is working through a small potty training regression with a plan in place.
Pick up from school and plan engaging afternoons, including park time, classes, or other activities. Encourage participation in new experiences and support social development. Provide snacks or simple meals as needed and help maintain a smooth transition through the afternoon. Ensure attentive, engaged supervision throughout. No pets. Elevator building. School is approximately 10 blocks away, typically subway in the morning and walking home in the afternoon.
